I am looking to create a strong contrast and tension between a gnarly, rough surface and a pleasingly smooth feel (The rough areas will be blackened and the smooth areas will have the crackle glaze.). I have researched clay bodies and found two that are just the contrast I need with similar shrinkage percentages.
This is a test of blending the two together and so far, they are drying without cracks. We will see how they fire….
